3. 2-3 slides explaining themes in the text citing examples from the text
4. 2 slides explaining the plot of the text INCLUDING a plot triangle slide
5. 2-3 slides discussing the author's choices in a key scene and how they effect the outcome of the novel

Speak Structure and Vocabulary

Requirements: 

1. 7-12 slide PPT
2. 2-3 slides citing examples of terms and vocabulary that aid in reading this text, citing where they are found in the text
3. 2-3 slides using the plot triangle from the BRONZE Key Project, discuss how the structure of the story influences meaning and aesthetics (flow/readability). 
4. 1 slide citing examples of one or more of the following from the text
   1. ​Irony
   2. Sarcasm = should be easy in this book
   3. Hyperbole
   4. Understatement
   5. Deadpan humor
5. 2-3 slides discussing the context of the text (time period, author's life, etc)

Requirements:

2. 2-3 slides discussing the film "Speak"
3. 4-5 slides discussing themes from both the film and the text, and how they are handled in the different mediums

The film can be found for digital access on Amazon OR you can set aside two days in class during Mon-Thursday to watch the film during station work if you let Mr. Brewer know ahead of time.

Symbolic Tree Art Project

Requirements:

1. Create a tree like Melinda did in the novel/film. 
2. Your tree can represent struggles and successes in your own life, or represent overcoming struggles in history or the world at large. 
3. Your tree should be a substantial art project and should be something that you are proud to display once it is completed (no quick 2 hr and done stuff). 
4. Included in your project, is a written OR recorded explanation of your project. 
   
5. IF written - 2 pages, double spaced, 12 font times new roman
   
6. IF recorded - 2-3 minute explanation of your design decisions
