Portfolio Defense

This focus area will support research and discussion of a "Portfolio Defense" in the classroom.
The goal of this page is to show how I use this instrument in my classroom at Phoenix, and to provide useful and current research that supports this instrument.

Mr. Brewer's Methodology

Link to Portfolio Defense Project
The above link connects to the rubric for 12th grade students' "Last Lecture" projects, which is both an academic and emotionally cathartic assignment based on the text, "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch.
Link to "The Innovator" Path
The above link connects to one of the "paths" that students can choose from while completing their portfolios. This is the most diverse path. Imagine the portfolio of a student who completes one Key Project from this path every two weeks for 2-4 years of English class.
