If you are tired of 9/11 videos at this point, watch this one.
This is my favorite 9/11 video (if that is the right word). Some kids near Brooklyn, NYC are watching the smoke from behind a fence, and they see white shapes floating. These are business papers from inside the towers getting caught in the wind. Random excel sheets. Somebody's day to day number crunching from some, unnamed, cubicle. I like it, because without violence and explosions you see someone's worksheets. A person put the words on each of those papers. Someone's brother, sister, mom or dad, son or daughter made those sheets, copied them while bored one day, checking their watch and talking in the copy room. |
Warning: This one does have some intense and likely disturbing imagery from the day.
This is a long video (28 min) but if you want to understand why people who lived through the event (my generation, I was in 8th Grade at the time) this is a great example of how stunned we all were. Again, long video, so use your time wisely, there is a Key Project due this Friday (the 2nd). |
