Standard RL.1

Research the Beat Movement and produce a PPT on the time period


Requirements:
  • Must have a Cover Page
  • Must have a Works Cited page
  • Must explain the time period of the Beat Movement
  • Must explain the physical locations where the Beats gathered
  • Must name and bio at least four Beats
  • Must be at LEAST 10 slides long

Silver

Standard RL.2

Choose one Beat Poet and annotate two of their poems


Requirements:
  • Both poems must be from the same poet
  • Annotations should be done in word using the ctrl+alt+m function
  • Annotations must explain figurative language or meaning as translated by you
  • Each poem must have SIX annotations minimum

Gold

Standard W.1

Choose one Beat Poet and write a new poem using their style.


Requirements:
  • Your poem must be annotated to point out how you are mimicking style not content
  • You must have at least 5 annotations pointing out style choices that match your poet
  • Your poem must be one page long MINIMUM
  • You must record your poem OUT LOUD using your own microphone, Evernote (free phone app) or Mr. Brewer's microphone

Master

Standard W.1

You are a Beat Poet. You have mastered the form and flow of an era. Write a chapbook (5-6 poems) in the style of the beats and lets see if we can get this sucka published!


Requirements: 
  • Your chapbook must have a minimum of 5-6 poems, maximum of 20 poems.
  • Poems may vary in length, but no poems shorter than 6 lines please



  • 5 Levels Bonus if you record yourself reading at least two of these at an Open Mic
