Each actor can only be in ONE play for the exhibition night. So be sure by the end of THIS week who is going to be acting in your play together.
You MAY act with a student from another period.
BUT understand that you won't always or often be able to practice with them during my class period. You will need to set up out of class practice time on your own. |
Script WritingWhy am I writing this?

Today, focus on finalizing your play choices
ActingTime to do some practicing!
Watch this quick overview on "method" acting. The next part of this station requires a partner.
With a partner, act out a scene from the website at the link below. You can cold-read the scene (without emotion) if you like, but for best use of your time, trying to ham it up and get into the character is best. Continue practicing scenes OR continue to find the 10-minute play you will be presenting on Nov. 2.

Script WritingIf you are struggling to start writing, here is a link to a list of scripts that are free to read.
Read a script for a film that you like and get a feeling for how your favorite movie looked before it was on the screen. NOTE: The ones titled "transcript" don't count as screenplay format, that's just the dialogue. Look at the ones titled "draft" for the correct formatting. And here are a few links to good background music for script writing that I have used personally. Good luck in production day!
Remember. If you are worried about writing something awful. Write it. The next thing may well be the best thing you've ever written. Write THROUGH the crap, to get them tomatoes! |
Technical TheaterTime to do some practicing!
Here are a few painting tutorials on getting specific textures that might come in handy as you begin working with your actors to imagine the backdrops they may want to use for their plays. Brick wall
